An effect that group play therapy that utilizes fairy tales has on the self-conception of children of multicultural families

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to improve self-conception of children of culticultural families by implementing group play therapy that utilizes fairy tales. The research subjects were 2 children asked by a guidance teacher among those who use C regional children` s center located in A city in Kyung Sang Buk Do, and aged 6~7 who received low score in the self-conception test for children` s use. The subjects of the study were, first, whether group play therapy that utilizes fairy tales influence on self-conception of children of multicultural families, and second, whether group play therapy that utilizes fairy tales influence on changes of playing activities in the situation of free playing in the center. The program was implemented 2 terms a week, 60 minutes for each term, being totally 12 terms, and each term consisted of relaxation activity(15 min), structuralization activity(35min), and discussion activity(10 min). To learn about the effect that group play therapy that utilizes fairy tales has on the self-conception of children of multicultural families, we had children have the self-conception test before and after the implementation of the program, and filmed the free play situation dividing it to single play activity and group play activity, and measured frequencies of each term according to play activity observation record.
